I was born in Savannah May 22nd 1953. I have lived in Savannah all of my life except while attending the University of Georgia where I graduated in 1975. As a Savannah native I have developed extensive relationships within the community and expecially the legal community. I received my law degree from John Marshall Law school and began practicing in June of 1980. I was a general practitioner for the first 20 years of my practice and gained extensive experience in a wide variety of matters. Over the past 9 years I have been focusing in developing a specialized practice in DUI defense. To that end I began extensive training by taking specialized courses in DUI defense. I became a member of the National College of DUI Defense which is the preeminent organization for serious DUI defense lawyers. There are over 700 members in this organization who maintain an internet listserve where information is exchanged on a daily basis. They conduct seminars which draw experts from all over the world who have helped me understand the flawed "science" which the government uses to convict innocent people. I am a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. I am a certified operator and maintenance technician of the Intoxilyzer 5000 which is the breath testing device used by the State of Georgia. My experience with the Intoxilyzer 5000 is why I became dedicated to DUI defense. While at a training course we tested several of these machines by swishing vodka in our mouths, spitting it out, and testing at various time intervals. With no alcohol in my system I tested at .035 forty five minutes after I had spit out the vodka. Right then I became convinced that the use of these machines was causing innocent people to go to jail and resolved to do my best to prevent that from happening. I am happy to say that by dedication and training I've been able to do just that.
